An autumn visit to the Carter Mountain Orchard is a staple for many families throughout Virginia.
There is no better time to go to Carter Mountain than in the fall when the foliage is at its best and the apples and cider are fresh. This is a quintessential fall outing, great for old and young alike, especially for newbies like me who have yet to experience the pick-your-own-apples fun.
It was a glorious weekday with perfect temperatures ranging in the high 50’s when a friend and I decided to take the one-hour drive to visit. Breathtaking, I say. The views of Charlottesville, the Piedmont, and the Blue Ridge Mountains are absolutely spectacular.
Without any more need for words, I will simply attach thirty or more pictures to this entry. Friends and family abroad, I hope you enjoy the shots.
Pictures are taken with Nikon D3200 with AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm 3.5-5.6G VR Lens.

In conclusion, with a mama-bestie, two happy toddlers, a glass of wine, some apple cider donuts, fresh apple cider, and a bag of pick-my-own Jonagold apples before we wrapped up the day, this has truly been one of my best life experiences so far.
Happy Fall, folks!
P.S. It has been almost 6 months since I became the owner of a dslr camera, and I am still not that satisfied with the outcome of the pics. I surely need more practice with the composition and play with the settings of the manual mode.
