Summer is drawing closer each day. To me, summer spells H-O-T! Don’t you agree with me? And the best way to kick start the fun-filled season is to visit a beach destination. (Raise your glass if you agree!)
In order to pick an affordable and perfect beach spot for our little family, we have googled high and low for the best rates and reviews. You see, my ambition was to wrap up the entire 4D3N escapade for under $500. Some people thought I was a little far-fetched with such a low budget, but I figured it was doable.
Thanks to Groupon, we managed to grab a kid-friendly oceanfront resort at Myrtle Beach for only $75/night. The oceanfront one-bedroom suite was absolutely fitting for a family like ours. The mini kitchenette in the suite came with a stove, microwave, pots and pans, plates, glasses, utensils, coffee maker, cooking oil, and a decent-sized refrigerator. What else can you ask for with such great facilities?
We only ate out once a day, making most of our meals in our suite. We could access groceries easily with pharmacies and supermarkets nearby. Especially with my husband’s dietary restrictions, I loved the fact that I could easily make breakfast for him without fearing any additional ingredients which would make his day difficult.
Anyway, I am going to skip all these boring details for now. Even I’m not fascinated with what I just typed.
I meant to share pictures and not uninteresting details of how we accomplished our vacation. Sorry about that.
But hey, Annakate truly had a blast at Myrtle Beach. I have never seen the kind of joy in this little girl as when she was embracing the waves boldly. This experience filled up my heart contently and gratefully.
For now, let us enjoy some great moments that we captured on the first day at the beach.

Can you see how brave this little girl is? She would just run straight into the splashing waves. You have no idea how many times we have to remind her to stay close to us! (Oh, toddlers!)
Well, I just learnt a new phrase at South Carolina recently. “A family that vacations together, stays together.”
Stay tuned for Part 2 and have a blessed day ahead!
