8 weeks into Mommyhood – It has been a new adventure not only for me, but for my baby Annakate. I thank the Lord each day for this miracle, for this precious gift that He has blessed me with.
I am really enjoying myself as a stay-at-home mommy. I wish I could do this forever, but the nasty reality bites. We need to work for the juicy bacon.
One of the reasons why I love being a mom is the pure joy I get from being a special part of my daughter’s life — watching her learn, cry, smile, giggle, and grow. I love seeing her eyes light up with every new discovery. It is indeed a golden privilege to raise up a little one.
I enjoy her being cuddled in my arms, and falling asleep in my embrace. Oh, the warmth of her soft skin touches my heart right there. As weird as it can sound like, I actually look forward to every diaper change to interact with her, hoping that she will not turn cranky due to the sudden temperature change when I strip her butt naked. Bath time is one of my favorite moments as she love being in the water. I am quite amazed at how fearless she is with water. Sssshhh, I can’t wait for her to learn how to splash so that Daddy will get soaked too!
Nevertheless, my daughter is actually a more innocent (read: pure) version of me and my husband. Having said that, she definitely motivates me to be a better person in general, as I try each day to be a good mom.
Despite the challenges ahead, I will continue to pray for my dear daughter to be blessed with the fruits of the Spirit and to grow up into a beautiful, intelligent and God-fearing woman. The unconditional love that we have for her is overflowing and it inspires us to be the best parents we can be.
